Gail, a Michigan-native, started playing with paper cutting early in her undergraduate career.  After a few years, she decided to share her love affair with paper with the world.

Gail’s style is heavily influenced by her mother’s quilting.  Recently, her mother, Ruth McCormick, re-imagined Gail’s paper elephant as a quilt for the Hoffman Challenge.  They are conspiring on further art collaborations.

Gail graduated from the University of Michigan in December 2010 with a BS in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology as well as a BTA (Theatre Arts).  She is currently pursuing a PhD in Ecology at the Pennsylvania State University. More information about her research can be found here.
